Ekiti state government said it has concluded arrangements to offset backlogs of deduction accrued to local government staff in the state.
The Chief of staff to the state governor,Mr Biodun Omoleye, who disclosed this at the Joint Account Allocation Committee October meeting in Ado Ekiti said certain amount have been committed to taking care of the deductions.
He stated that “the meeting discussed boundary issues in border communities with a view to resolving them before the commencement of Census, so that the state would not be at loss”.
The chief of staff urged the local government chairmen to look inward with the aim of increasing their Internally generated revenue and to as well foster peace in their domain enjoined the people of the state to be more Security conscious as the year runs to an end.
The Commissioner for Local Government and Community Development, Professor Adio Folayan, who also advised residents to come out enmasse on full participation in forthcoming local government election slated to 4th of December., added that the Council bosses were mandated to clear the roads that had been taken over by bushes in their areas to allow for feasibility and to discourage the activities of criminal elements using them as cover.
