Ekiti: Ido/Osi Local Government Holds Swearing-In Ceremony for New Secretary

The Executive Chairman of Ido/Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti State, Hon. Bamidele Omoleye, has sworn in Hon. Olugbenga Oladapo as the newly appointed Secretary to the council.

Performing the swearing-in ceremony at the Local Government Secretariat in Ido-Ekiti, Omoleye described the appointment as a sign of proactiveness by the state Governor, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji.

The Local Government Chairman further described the appointment as a product of merit, hard work, and careful consultation, urging the new Secretary to emulate the Governor’s provision of infrastructural amenities, good road networks, housing for all, and other initiatives.

He also urged the newly sworn-in Secretary to work towards achieving the Governor’s agenda of promoting the citizenry of each local government.

He noted that the public service was the core engine room of government, charging the new Secretary to deploy his wealth of knowledge and experience in discharging his duties.

“We appreciate His Excellency, the Governor, for fulfilling this appointment. You can see people jubilating, throwing encomiums to the Governor, and celebrating his proactive step in appointing the next Secretary to the council directly from Osi community, where the previous one was picked. We appreciate the Governor, stakeholders, and party leaders.”

He advised Hon. Oladapo, who hails from Osi community, to live up to the task of his duties according to the oath of office he has taken.

“He should always work towards achieving the laid-down agenda of the Governor, promoting the citizenry of Ido/Osi Local Government, and be part of every good move we take.”

In response, Hon. Oladapo appreciated the Governor’s administration for finding him worthy as Secretary, pledging his support and dedication to excellence.

“I’m really happy about my appointment. My family is delighted. I appreciate the Governor, Hon. Akin Osho, the party leaders, the Chairman, and the entire House.”

Recall that the former Secretary, Barrister Lekan Odetola, resigned a couple of months ago to join his family abroad.

Dignitaries present at the occasion included past members of the State House of Assembly, politicians, career officers led by the Head of the Local Government Administration (HLA), Mr. Olugbenga Sanya and the family members of the newly appointed Secretary to the council.
