The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress, (ADC) in Oyo state, Olooye Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke (FCA), has advocated reconciliation in the party ahead of the 2027 general election.
Addressing ADC leaders and members in Saki as part of his thank you visit to Saki West; Saki East and Atisbo Federal Constituency, Olooye Adegoke called on all other aspirants that contested the party’s primary election with him before his emergence to join him and the party to get victory in the governorship elections slated for February 2027.
According to the ADC governorship candidate, he cannot do it all alone hence the need for all to do it together, adding that like the symbol of their party, the ADC, all hands must be joined and work together to win the elections next year.
Olooye Adegoke stressed that after securing the party’s ticket, he has been making efforts to seek the cooperation of other contestants especially, Chief Bisi Ilaka.
“I want reconciliation so that we can move forward. Those who are angry should sheath their swords. They should let us work together, hand in hand like the symbol of our party”, he said.
Olooye Adegoke added, “Nobody can do it alone, we must work together to achieve victory. Let us talk to one another and when we win , we will all enjoy the dividends of hard work.
“I am saying this because when I won the governorship ticket, I didn’t just sit down as a candidate, I approached our leaders for reconciliation. I talked to them that we should work together, we should cooperate so that development will come to Oyo state”.
The ADC governorship candidate stressed, “I am talking to people in our party and even in the other political parties to join hands with me as we go for the governorship elections in February next year”.
Olooye Adegoke promised to repair minimum of 10 township and inner roads in each of the 33 local government areas of Oyo state in his first 100 days in office.
Also speaking on the reconciliation, the ADC House of Representatives candidate, Architect Bashiru Lawal, and the Oyo North Senatorial Candidate, Dr Lanre Agoro, called for peace and unity within the party.
According to them, there is the need for reconciliation in the party and that members and leaders should not engage in hostility but should seek peace with one another.
Oyo state ADC Chairman, Mr Afees Jimoh, while thanking the people of Saki for their support for the ADC, urged the party members and leaders in Saki to rally supports for the party ahead of the next year’s general elections begin house to house campaign and called for mobilisation for all the candidates of the ADC in the forthcoming elections.
