In preparation for the forthcoming general election ,Wife of former vice president ,Mrs Titi Abubakar has enjoined women to intensify efforts on grassroot mobilization for the success of the presidential ambition of her husband and the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

Mrs Abubakar spoke on Monday in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti state capital at a Women Summit organized by the PDP in the state.
She urged Ekiti PDP women ” to continue engaging in grassroots mobilisation for PDP presidential candidate and other candidates of the party ahead of next year’s election”.
Titi Abubakar who was represented by a leader of PDP in Ondo state, Mrs Bosede Adaramola lamented poor condition of roads that link Ekiti with other places,she explained that “women grassroot mobilization would boost the electoral Victory of the party in the next general election”.
The lawmaker representing Ekiti South Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Biodun Olujimi who was represented by a former member of House of representatives, Mrs Titilayo Akindahunsi charged women on unity to achieve success for the party at the election.
The former Chairman of Ado Ekiti local government, Mr Deji Ogunsakin also called for love, unity and togetherness to be relevant in governance and all activities in the country.
The key note speaker at the event and a political scientist with the Ekiti State University, EKSU Ado Ekiti, Professor Femi Omotosho who spoke on the theme of the event” “Women as Agents of Positive Change” decried low rate at which women potentials are being harnessed.
Omotosho, added that “women are well blessed and endowed with talents and leadership skill which could be utilized to tackle the socio- economic challenges facing the country”.
The Don declared that” in most positions either economy or politics, women often performed better than their male counterparts, hence the need to give them more recognition”.
He called on women to embark on aggressive campaign for their preferred candidates so as to get the right persons at the helms of affairs.
Also, the Director General of Atikunation ICG across the thirty six states, Mrs Fatimah Ogunkola expressed discontentment over the way women in politics were treated by their male counterparts,called for change and added the programme would be replicated across the states of the federation.
The PDP Women in all the local government in the state and the party stakeholders across the country graced the event.
The Convener of the program and the PDP women leader in the State, Chief Sade Akinrinmola said the event was put together “to enlighten women to know their importance and make use of it to develop the country”
Akinrinmola therefore advised women “to vote wisely during the next election”
The PDP Women leader who is a former council boss of Gbonyin local government appealed to the participants “to use their votes to liberate the country during the 2023 elections”.
