Panic in Osun as unknown gunmen shot PDP chieftain in wife’s shop

Unknown gunmen have reportedly killed a 42-year-old chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dele Agboola by gunshot.

The incident occurred in Ada, Boripe local government area of Osun state.

The victim popularly known as ‘Agbo’ was said to be eating in his wife’s shop beside Royal Life Hotel, pako, Ada, when the incident happened.

An eyewitness said, “Agbo was eating in his wife’s shop when the assailants came and shot him.

“There was panic when we heard the gunshot and everybody ran away for safety.”

The spokesperson of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Kehinde Adeleke, confirmed the incident.

She said the reason and identity of the killer(s) was yet to be unraveled but efforts are on to ensure the arrest of the assailants.

“The family members prevented security from taking the remains of the deceased to the hospital for autopsy test and he was buried around 08:30hrs Friday morning,” the NSCDC stated.
