..commends Oyebanji’s aide, Tosin Aluko on Innovative Solutions to Challenges

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, Ekiti State Chapter has commended the Ekiti state government on concerted efforts put in place for environmental safety and protection in the state.
This is just as the women Journalists applauded the state commissioner Of Environmental and Natural Resources Chief (Mrs) Tosin Aluko for her Innovative Solutions in Solving Environmental Challenges in the State.
Speaking during a courtesy visit to the office of the Commissioner, the Chairperson of NAWOJ, Mrs Adewumi Ademiju noted that the groundbreaking efforts put in place by the commissioner to ensure that Ekiti state is safe from any kind of environmental health hazard and Natural disaster is commendable.
Mrs Ademiju explained that the visit was part of the familiarisation tour by the new executive members to the office of the commissioner and to build a robust relationship between Ekiti NAWOJ and the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources since the interest of the association coincides with the goal of the Ministry in securing the lives of Ekiti Citizens.
She assured the Ministry of more robust and timely publicity, urging them not to relent in their roles of ensuring an Eco-friendly environment, devoid of any form of degradation and also educating members of the public on the Importance of personal and environmental sanitation.
Speaking on behalf of the Commissioner, The General Manager Ekiti State Environmental Protection Agency, Mr Olukayode Francis Adumo appreciates NAWOJ for associating with the ministry.
Mr Adumo recounted that the commissioner has embarked on many programmes which have attracted national attention to the state in the area of Environmental sanitation and Natural Resources which brought about Mrs Aluko’s appointment as the Chairperson of the Forum of Commissioners of Environment in the country.
“Recently, Ekiti State was honoured as the 4th best State in Nigeria that did a lot of things in Climate Management and there are also awards that have been presented to the commissioner within the short period of being in office”.
“Since the commissioner assumed office, she has been very particular about Capacity building and staff welfare, this led to the recruitment of at least a hundred environmental health officers.
He thereby seeks collaboration with NAWOJ in the area of reportage of the Ministry’s activities and also assured the association of the Ministry’s support whenever requested.
NAWOJ also paid a courtesy visit to the office of the Executive Secretary of the State Forestry Commission, Mr. Sunday Adekunle .
Adekunle congratulated the new executive members on their assumption of office and stressed the importance of unity in achieving great success.
He also recognized the vital role journalists play in the state’s development, urging them to maintain professionalism in their duties.
In response, the NAWOJ Chairperson expressed gratitude to the Executive Secretary for his support to the association, promising to collaborate with and support the commission’s developmental projects.
