The Mentcoom Global Investment Limited has announced the postponement of the Opening ceremony of Mentcoom Cinema.

The event which was earlier scheduled to saturday 11th May, 2024, has now been shifted to May 25th.

The Chairman, Chief Executive of the Investment Limited Fatoyinbo Olaniyi stated this in a telephone conversation with Journalists that “the Grand Opening ceremony has been postponed till May 25, this year.”

While tendering unreserved apologies on behalf of himself and his entire team, the UK-based Ekiti-born Cinematographer explained that “it had to be postponed to enable a thorough pre- opening technical test.”

This, he said, was “to make necessary adjustments where necessary so as to make sure that the anticipating public enjoys a hitch- free and non- stop cinematic entertainment from the moment the cinemas open for full operations.”

Recall that the Honourable Commissioner for Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, Prof Rasaki Ojo Bakare had announced the date for the Grand Opening Ceremonies late last month, when he conducted journalists round the facilities during a pre-check visit to see the various technical equipment put in place for the commencement of operations at the cinemas.

While allaying the fears of the anticipating public and assuring them that the cinemas would open officially by May 25, Fatoyinbo expressed his gratitude to both the Hon Commissioner, Prof Bakare and the Director-General of Bureau of Tourism Development, Amb Wale Ojo-Lanre for their support and encouragement.
