Groups of NGOs,Ekiti Youths Walk Against Crime

In view of the alarming crime rate  in  the Country,a group of NGOs, Bolu Afolabi Foundation(BAF) led by Mr Bolu Afolabi, Emeraldmatters , which Damilola Oyeyemi is the Team lead and Ekiti Youths on Thursday,24th March,2022  walked against crime in  Ado-Ekiti,the  Ekiti State capital.

 

The train which moved from Ijigbo roundabout to the Fajuyi area of the state capital was to discourage people from embracing and engaging in acts considered inimical to the peaceful coexistence in the society.

Bothered by the rate of insecurity, crimes and criminality in Nigeria which have displaced the actual peace of the people of the Nation.

This prompted these groups and individuals to embark on a sensitization campaign for the people of Ado Ekiti.

The group coordinator and founder of the foundation Mr Bolu Afolabi who was joined by other youth leaders in the state including the Speaker, state Youth Parliament Mr Toba Fatunla, Team lead of Emeraldmatters, Miss Damilola Oyeyemi engaged in interpersonal communication as a strategy to appealing to individuals to shun crimes of any sort.

 

They lamented that “the rate of fraudulent acts, kidnapping, money ritual, killings, armed robbery among others are worrisome among the youth and needs urgent attention lest the society  becomes a place where humanity is trashed”

The foundation met different sectors and people from various spheres such as Market women, Okada riders, Drivers’ Union, government workers and other passers-by who were sensitized on the importance of curbing   crime.
