Nigeria born United Kingdom based Lawyer, Barrister Gbenga Ojo has given Nigerians, especially people in Ekiti North federal constituency II, a message of hope, asking them to consolidate the gains of democracy.

Barr. Ojo, an aspirant of House of Representatives in the last general elections also charged citizenry to reflect on the journey into achieving the democracy that the country is enjoying today and see the need to celebrate those that paid the supreme price for the collective benefits, even though there are still challenges.

In a statements issued to Journalists on Wednesday, he said that the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State are “committed to good governance that will ensure an equitable and fair Nigeria and Ekiti State that works for all”.

The  message reads:

“I join esteemed constituents of Ekiti North federal constituency II and Nigerians in general in commemorating this year’s June 12 which is designated as the Democracy Day”, the Barr. Ojo said.

“Despite imperfections and challenges, I urge us not to throw our hands up in despair but rather continue to seek ways of consolidating gains of democracy in Nigeria.

“Every great nation today at one time or the other have had their moments of turmoil and challenges. They overcame because leaders and other fellow country men and women believed in their country and worked assiduously for what they believed in and transformed their country positively politically and economically to the benefit of all citizenry. He further stated that the concept of democracy is evolutionary and not revolutionary. Evolution denotes constant changes, development, involvements in the political process for the betterment of society, while revolution could brings about a radical change which might not necessarily be possible for the people.

“I call on our youths to shun calls for violent agitations that could further worsen the dire strait we are in. Public infrastructure are our collective assets. Ekiti State and Nigeria at large will Continually increased in Development, he added.
