Children’s Day: NAWOJ Tasks Stakeholders on Adequate Child Protection for Brighter Future

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Ekiti state Chapter has called on relevant Stakeholders to prioritize adequate Protection on children in order to guide and facilitate necessary developments in the society.

Women Journalists gave the submission to commemorate the celebration of this year’s Children’s Day.

The day is annually celebrated every 27th of May to recognize the importance of children and the need to protect and promote their rights.

This year’s celebration, themed “Protecting Children’s Rights: A Call to Action,” is a reminder of the urgent need to address the numerous challenges facing children in Nigeria, including child abuse, child labor, and lack of access to quality education and healthcare.

The NAWOJ Chairperson ,Mrs Adewumi Ademiju in a press statement signed by the Secretary,Mrs Funmi Falae stated that the assocation is committed to amplifying the voices of children and advocating their rights and well-being. .

The women Journalists therefore celebrated Children in the state and worldwide at large.

The statement reads:

“Through our media platforms and community outreach programs, we will continue to raise awareness about the importance of protecting children from harm and ensuring they have access to the resources they need to thrive.

“We call on government, civil society organizations, and individuals to join us in this effort to protect and promote the rights of children. Together, we can create a safer and more nurturing environment for our children to grow and succeed.

“Happy Children’s Day from NAWOJ!” ,the statement said.
