The Lagos State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Hon. Cornelius Ojelabi, on Monday commiserated with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State and the families of those who lost their lives in an auto-crash that occurred on Sunday in Badagry.

He said that the Badagry auto-crash that claimed 14 lives including that of a four- month-old baby which occured on Sunday, 9 July, 2023, was a sad development.

Ojelabi advised motorists to always desist from speeding while on transit to guide against wanton destruction of innocent lives on the roads.

He also urged them to do away with consumption of alcohol while driving and cultivate the habit of park and rest whenever they feel tired while driving.

“They should ensure always that their vehicles are in good conditions before putting them on the road for the safety of themselves and passengers that would board them”, he advised.

He said, “During this rainy season, motorists must ensure that their vehicle tyres, windscreens, headlamps, horns and wipers are working effectively while they guide against excessive loads for the safety of everyone on board their vehicles.”

Ojelabi also called on traffic managers on both the highways and intracity roads to be more alive to their statutory functions of maintaining sanity on the roads. He said that such would help curtail incessant accidents on the roads.
