The people of Olorunsogo community in Adebayo area of Ado-Ekiti , capital city of Ekiti state has appealed to the management of Benin Electricity Distribution Company to make the newly installed 500KVA transformer in the area active in order to curb power outage.
The Chairman landlord Association of the Community, Mr. Olaoye Mathew, made the appeal while addressing Journalists ,he said that the poor electricity supply to the area has crippled the economy of the community which has affected sources of income of some residents. He also stated that regular supply of electricity will reduce the activities of night marauders who has been terrorizing the community.
The Chairman however commended efforts of the past executives of the community headed by Mr. Bamisaye Sunday Asaba “for their vision in the development of Olorunsogo community as well as ensuring stable electricity in the community”
Olaoye said that “the 300KVA transformer being used in the community was no longer capable of feeding the entire community, hence the purchase and installation of the yet to be energized 500KVA transformer to boost the electricity supply in the area”.
According to Mr. Olaoye, “the residents contributed to complement government efforts in purchasing the 500KVA transformer”. He however appreciated the government of Ekiti State for its support towards the extension of electricity supply to some street in the area.
Mr. Olaoye also called on the Benin Electricity Distribution to” extend the metering of houses in the community with prepaid meters”
