The Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, has announced the postponement of the inauguration of its National Campaign Council, NCC, for its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, from Tuesday, October 20 to Monday, October 26, 2026.
The National leadership of the party, which made the announcement on Monday in Abuja, said the postponement was due to the tight schedule of Obi, who has an important engagement overseas.
The National Publicity Secretary of the NDC, Osa Director, announced the postponement in a statement issued on Monday, October 19.
“The NDC leadership has announced a new date for the unveiling and inauguration of its National Campaign Council (NCC) earlier slated for Tuesday, 20th October, 2026. The event will now be held on Monday, 26th October, 2026,” the statement said.
The party apologised for any inconvenience the adjustment might cause and urged its members and supporters to remain focused on its electoral objectives.
It said the postponement should not distract party faithful from the task of securing victory for Obi and other NDC candidates in the forthcoming presidential and general elections.
