A newly formed sports inclined group christened Gogetter Sports Movement-GSM will be officially unveiled on Wednesday May 6 ,2026 at the Oluyemi Kayode stadium in Ado Ekiti.
The group convener, Qozeem Oladapo, a household name in Ekiti State Sports ecosystem says the group will be unveiled at half time of the match involving Ekiti Queens and Bayelsa Queens football clubs.
He said group members will be introduced to the Number 1 Sports administrator in Ekiti State, Dr Olusola Osetoba (Technical Advisor on Sports Development) in the presence of other Sports stakeholders and teeming football enthusiasts and supporters.
Oladapo who is a member of the Ekiti State Sports Development Trust Fund, Chairman Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) and Director of Sports EKSU Alumni Association, Ekiti State chapter said the primary objective of the GSM is to galvanize support for the re-election of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji-BAO ahead of the June 20 governorship election by highlighting the various strides of the governor in the sports sector in less than four years.
He added that with the consent of the Sports Development office, a couple of programs through which the numerous achievements of the governor would be showcased before people across the nooks and crannies of the state, at the National level and those in the diaspora.
The veteran Sports journalist said the moves became imperative in view of the unprecedented development that governor Oyebanji has brought to the Sports sector in term of facilities, athletes welfare and sponsorship of the State’s athletes in major national and international sports tournaments.
He noted that most people across the state and in the diaspora know little about the exploits and achievements of the Oyebanji administration, hence the need to focus on spreading the great news to the teeming sports lovers across the State.
The Gogetter as he’s popularly known also informed that he has commenced weekly documentary series to showcase the various strides of the governor via the social media adding that more efforts will be intensified to ensure the Sports sector contributes to the massive votes for the governor at the June 20 election.
