The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, Ekiti State Chapter, has commended the Registrar of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, Mrs Folasade Bimbo Akintola, for her exemplary leadership.

The commendation came during a courtesy visit by the association to the Registrar, who also serves as Secretary to the Governing Council.
Speaking during the visit, NAWOJ Chairperson, Mrs Adewumi Ademiju, appreciated the Rector of the institution for his support for the association and praised the Registrar for representing women positively.
“Women’s participation in leadership is gradually gaining ground in Nigeria, and more women will occupy strategic positions in governance and public administration,” Ademiju said.
Responding, Mrs Akintola attributed her achievements to God’s grace, hard work and commitment to service.
“Women possess the intelligence, courage, strength and resourcefulness required to lead effectively,” Akintola said.
She expressed confidence that women would eventually occupy the highest political offices in Nigeria, including governorship and the presidency, adding that their leadership could contribute to reducing corruption and advancing national development.
The Registrar challenged stereotypes suggesting that women must compromise their dignity to attain leadership positions, maintaining that women could rise through merit, integrity and professional competence.
She assured NAWOJ of her willingness to support the association’s programmes and initiatives aimed at promoting women’s development.
The association reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with the institution to advance women’s empowerment and professional development.
