Former Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike, has rebuffed certain report making round the waves on his alleged intention to defect from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The former governor clears air on the allegation after he,alongside Seyi Makinde and James Ibori, held a meeting with President Bola Tinubu on Friday.
The purpose of the meeting according to report was to express their support for Tinubu, who assumed office as the President of Nigeria four days prior.
Wike, a prominent member of the PDP, refuted claims that his potential switch to the APC was on the agenda during the meeting
Speaking while briefing the press at the state house on Saturday, Wike said that his visit was to pay solidarity to Tinubu.
‘ No plans. Nothing like that in the offing
We are Nigerians and we have come to give the president support.
“That is what is required. There is no big deal about that.
