The National and State Houses of Assembly Elections Petitions Tribunal sitting in Jos, the capital of Plateau state, has sacked the speaker of the state assembly, Moses Sule.
The Tribunal sacked him on Friday, after nullifying his election as the lawmaker representing the Mikang State constituency.
The tribunal had ruled against the speaker on the basis that his party, the PDP, had no legal structure to nominate him as a candidate to stand for election during the last poll.
The tribunal also ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to withdraw a certificate of return earlier issued to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and give it to the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Daniel Nanlong, who scored the second-highest number of votes cast during the election.
