A veteran journalist, Toyin Ayoola has been selected for a special recognition by the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN).
The Award of recognition forms part of activities slated to commemorate the 60th anniversary of SWAN.
SWAN in a letter of notification to the veteran jointly signed by the President and General Secretary,
Isaiah Benjamin and Ikenna Okonkwo respectively, on behalf of the National Executive Committee reads:
“I am pleased to inform you that you have been selected for special recognition as part of activities marking the SWAN Diamond Jubilee Celebration (SWAN @60) scheduled to hold from October 29 to 31, 2025, in Abuja.
“This honour is in recognition of your outstanding contributions, professionalism, and enduring service to the growth and integrity of sports journalism in Nigeria.
” Over the years, your commitment, mentorship, and passion for the craft have inspired generations of journalists and enriched the nation’s sporting narrative
“As a valued pioneer and pillar of our profession, this recognition is a token of appreciation for your sacrifices and legacy in promoting excellence, fairness, and credibility in sports reporting.

Ayoola has served as a Special Adviser S.A media to former Ekiti state Governor Segun oni . He was also a former board member of Ekiti State Football Association as well as former board member of Ekiti United Football Club.
He has also served as the sports editor of the Ondo State Radio Corporation between 1995-1997, the pioneer Sports editor of Broadcasting Service of Ekiti State between 1997-2005.
