Retired Police officers want Senate to Remove them from contributory pension scheme

Association of Retired Police Officers, Kaduna state chapter has called on the Senate President, Sen. Godswill Akpabio, to actualize his promise by removing them from the contributory pension scheme immediately.

Chairman of the chapter, CSP Mannir Lawal Zaria (Rtd), made the call in a press statement issued by him and made available to the media in Kaduna after his meeting with his members.

The Association of the Nigeria Police Retirees under the Contributory Pension Scheme, Kaduna state branch had last December carried out a peaceful protest to the National Assembly Complex, during which the Senate President, Sen. Akpabio addressed them through the chairman, Senate Committee on Police Affairs, Sen. Ahmed AbdulMumini Malamadori.

The Senate President pledged that once they are through with budget defence, he will invite the Inspector General of Police with a view to removing the Police from the Contributory Pension Scheme.
