A Journalist covering Osun State for the Nation newspaper Mr Adedeji Toba has been reportedly shot.
The journalist was said to have been shot by security agents who were trying to control protesting youths who stormed the popular Olaiya fly over bridge in Osogbo, the Osun State capital
It was gathered that one other female protester was also shot.
The protesting youths were said to be students of Ire polytechnic who were protesting over the death of one of them, identified as Abiola Afolabi allegedly killed by the police im the state.
According to report,Afolabi, was killed in the month of April his corpse delayed in the morgue and was not released until frantic efforts by his family members for burial
The protesting youths blocked the Olaiya area with some items to prevent vehicles from passing the road.
It was when Journalists and others were running for dear lives that a bullet reportedly hit Mr Adedeji Toba of the Nation Newspaper and an unidentified female.
The duo have been taken to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
People at the event expressed serious concern on alleged police brutality called for redeployment of the commissioner of Police in the state
They said “incidences of police killing innocent people in Osun State for past three month is call for question_adding “it is time for the State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola to as the chief security officer of the State call the police to order”.
