..as Chairman empowers Hundreds of residents to back Oyebanji
Sequel to unprecedented empowerment of hundreds of residents, the Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has lauded the Chairman of the Gbonyin Local Council Development Area, Hon Damilare Ajayi, for replicating the human capital development pillar of his administration at the grassroots level.
Oyebanji said investments in human capital remains the best way to tackle the endemic poverty in the society and neglect being suffered by those at the rural setting.
The governor gave the commendations in Aisegba Ekiti, on Wednesday, during a mega empowerment organised by the LCDA Chairman, where hundreds of people benefited across Aisegba-Ekiti, Iluomoba, and Ijan-Ekiti.
Besides receiving cash gifts and food items, others benefitted from various empowerment tools to support their engagement in meaningful economic activities, like: motorcycles, sewing machines, gas cylinders, grinding machines, clippers, solar lights, among others
Speaking at the occasion, Oyebanji, represented by the Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Hon Folorunso Olabode, commended Hon. Ajayi’s foresight and commitment to delivering democratic dividends to his people.
He encouraged the council management to collaborate closely with the chairman and highlighted various developmental projects executed through the ministry in Gbonyin LCDA.
Oyebanji pledged continued support whenever necessary and advised beneficiaries not to sell the empowerment items, expressing gratitude to security operatives for their ongoing efforts to maintain safety in the state.
Furthermore, he hailed the APC party leaders and members at the grassroots for their excellent work towards the smooth running of party affairs.
The ecstatic LCDA’s Chairman, Hon Ajayi, expressed gratitude to Governor Oyebanji, for his leadership and support.
He also appreciated the Honorable Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Hon Folorunso Olabode, for his unwavering support.
Additionally, he acknowledged party leaders, council management and staff, and the people of Gbonyin LCDA for their continued backing.
“Notably, this marks the third time this administration has empowered security operatives in the LCDA. I urge everyone to rally behind the Governor in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Ekiti State”.
The Head of the Council Administration, Mr.Adebayo Alabi, welcomed all dignitaries, attendees, and beneficiaries. He disclosed that this empowerment initiative was the first project emphasized by the council chairman immediately upon his assumption of duty late last year, 2025.
Mr. Alabi thanked God for the fulfillment of this vision and the government of Ekiti State. He encouraged all beneficiaries to make the most of these opportunities and to continue supporting the present administration of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji and the council chairman as they drive forward the economic transformation agenda for Ekiti State.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries of the empowerment program, Mr Idowu Okunola praised the council chairman for the initiative and pledged to utilize the items responsibly for their intended purposes.
