Nigerian music superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has raised allegations and serious concerns over transparency of tomorrow, Saturday Governorship Election in Osun state.
In a post shared on social media, the award-winning musician accused key political actors and election personnel of plotting to compromise the election process ahead of Saturday’s vote.
Davido specifically singled out Mrs. Onyeka Pauline Ugochi, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Ebonyi State, questioning her presence in Osun State despite not being officially assigned to oversee the poll by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In his statement, Davido claimed that her presence was linked to political maneuvering orchestrated by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, who serves as a key coordinator for the opposition campaign in the state.
“Mrs Pauline Ugonyeka, REC Ebonyi State. She was not deployed by @inecnigeria. What is she doing in Osun! She was sent here from Gov Hope Uzodinma to rig! We will resist you Madame!!” Davido posted.
Davido, who is the nephew of incumbent Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has been actively involved in campaigning across the state.
