The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ekiti State Council, has called on Muslims particularly journalists to not relent on their prayers for the country with the urge  to remain fervent in prayers and  use the holy month of Ramadan to beseech the face of Allah over the various challenges facing the country.

The Nuj chairman, Comrade Rotimi Ojomoyela, in a statement in Ado Ekiti, said its imperative that Nigeria needs divine intervention going by the spectacular happenings in the society such as wanton killings and kidnapping of innocent persons as well as economic down turn.

He congratulated Muslim journalists for the grace Allah melted upon them, sustaining their lives to witness this season of Ramadan and prayed that Allah grant them the blessings of the holy month.

“I believe in the power of prayer especially in the holy month of Ramadan, let us lay bare the challenges of Nigeria before Allah and I have confidence that our prayers shall be accepted” said Ojomoyela.
