NAWOJ partners Bureau of Civic Orientation to advance good governance in Ekiti

 

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalist, Ekiti State Chapter has shown commitment in promoting all activities and program of the Bureau of Civic Orientation and Citizenship (BCOC) in the state.

The agreement was made on Tuesday during a courtesy visit to the office of the Director-General, Bureau of Civic Orientation and Citizenship in the state.

Speaking during the visit, the Chairperson of NAWOJ in Ekiti State, Mrs. Adewumi Ademiju noted the importance of BCOC in advancing the course of good Governance in the state and the need for NAWOJ to be part of the strategic activities and roles of the Bereau.

Mrs Ademiju explained that the visit was part of the familiarisation tour by the new executive members to the office of BCOC and to build more relationship between Ekiti NAWOJ and the Bureau since the interest of the association coincide with the goal of the Bureau in ensuring that Ekiti Citizens uphold the Core values of honesty, integrity, diligence and dignity.

Mrs Ademiju outlined some of the functions and forthcoming activities of NAWOJ and how these can bring positive impacts among women, girls and the state in general.

She assured the BCOC of more robust and timely publicity, urging them not to relent in their role of sensitizing, orientating and re-orientating members of the public on the Importance of demonstrating the good cultural values of the state.

Responding, the Director- General, Ekiti State Bereau of Civic Orientation and Citizenship Mrs Olawumi Famuyiwa appreciated the Chairperson and her executive members for the visit.

She noted that she is happy to be a NAWOJ member and will continue to support the association’s activities.

She emphasized the importance of the work of Journalists in the State and promised to continue in maintaining good relationship with the members of the media.

The BCOC boss reiterated the readiness of the Bureau under her watch to continue to support the State Governor’s agenda by educating Citizens on the need to uphold the good virtues that Ekiti is known for.

Similarly, the Special Assistant to the State Governor on Civic Orientation, Chief Akinlade Ojo Popularly known as Erugale, thanked members of the executive, Ekiti NAWOJ for the visit.
