Malaria Day: FEBI Development Initiative Strives for Healthy Living

…. Distributes Mosquito net at Ebira community

 

In an attempt to curb the scourge of malaria in the society for an healthy living,a  Non Governmental Organization ,NGO in Ekiti, FEBI Development initiative  has sensitized Ebira community in Ado-Ekiti on the danger of the disease and the need for constant use of mosquito net as  panacea.

As part of its Pad the pocket project, Febi Development Initiative sets out on 27th April, 2022 to mark the World Malaria Day which was celebrated on 25th April, 2022.

 

The team which chose the Egbira settlement in Irasa community along Iworoko road in Ado Ekiti to be beneficiary of the Programme stressed the danger of malaria.

 

The people were sensitized on the topic ‘Innovation for Malaria prevention’ . They were taught the causes, dangers, prevention and treatment of malaria.

 

The Facilitator Miss Nifemi Olagunju emphasized the “need for a clean environment and a working waste management so as not to encourage breeding of mosquitoes” in the area.

 

Responding, the people said that they don’t usually fall sick but when they do it’s always malaria that gets them down which is sometimes “chronic or mild”.

 

Malaria relief packages were distributed at the end of the lecture. Mosquito nets and coils(they were taught how to make use of the coil) were shared.

 

No fewer than 28 families were represented, with over 50 children in attendance during the lecture and presentation.

 

The Programme Cordinator, Miss Doyinsola Ajaja , while ending the Programme told the community people to chant ‘ilera loro’ meaning ‘Health is wealth’.

 

One of the beneficiaries, Grace Adetutu commended the organization and appreciated the gesture on behalf of the whole community saying she hopes for more of this gestures from well meaning nigerians.

 

Also, the community leader, (Baale ) Mr Jimoh Saheed Ibrahim thanked the organization and prayed for God’s blessings on all.
