Inaugural lecture series: Three FUOYE dons set to address germane national issues through cutting edge researches

 

 

Three astute professors of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) will, in a couple of weeks’ time, address germane national issues and proffer workable solutions to solving them through their findings in cutting edge researches they have accomplished in their various fields of academic endeavour.

The three dons are , Olaitan Akinsanmi, a Professor of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Olusola J. Ojo, a Professor of Geology and Chika Euphemia Asogwa, a Professor of Mass Communication.

According to the Chairman, University Ceremonial Committee, Prof. Tajudeen Bolanle Opoola, who also doubles as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (DVC), Administration, Prof. Akinsanmi has been scheduled to present his inaugural lecture entitled: “The Prodigious Capabilities of Electromagnetic Field and the Absolute Reliance of Techno-Dynamism on their August Existence”, on November 17, 2023. His lecture shall address a national issue bordering on epileptic power supply and related matters as he would share his findings on his impactful research in his field to assist the nation.

In a similar development, Prof. Ojo will be presenting his inaugural lecture entitled: “Rocking the Rocks and Unearthing the Earth for the Benefit of Mankind” on December 12, 2023 and with it, national issues relating to the field of Geology would be addressed as he would be sharing his findings from his impactful scholarship on the field and give recommendations for the benefit of mankind.

Prof. Asogwa who is also FUOYE’s Dean, faculty of Mass Communication and Media Studies, shall be addressing an important national issue on journalism on December 14, 2023 with her inaugural lecture entitled: “Public Sphere without Decorum! Reining-in the Media in the Era of Citizen Journalism”. She will be sharing her findings on an impactful research endeavour in this area and give recommendations for solving the problems associated with it.

Prof. Opoola assured that the University ceremonial Committee, which was constituted by the progressively minded Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina, to organize the University’s important ceremonies, has concluded concrete plans for the success of the three inaugural lectures.
