The Alawe of Ilawe Ekiti, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adebanji Ajibade Alabi, AFUNTADE 1, has cautioned illegal land vendors and land grabbers to desist from the activities in the community or face wrath of the law.
The Alawe according to a press release by his Media adviser ,High Chief Ajibade Olubunmi gave the warning “on Friday, 7th October ,2022 following reports that some people have allegedly embarked on land speculations and land grabbing activities in some parts of the community which could snowball to communal crisis.”
Oba Alabi reminded his subjects that there is the anti land grabbing law in place in Ekiti State which stipulates severe penalties including a 4-year prison term for land grabbing offenders. Apart from this , there’s the Land Use Law in the country which could not be violated without punishment
“As the Traditional Ruler of this town, I won’t allow anyone to illegally acquire or grab any land in Ilawe Ekiti”,the Alawe stressed.
The Oba appealed to” Ilawe inhabitants to remain calm and report any land grabber as appropriate.”
