The immediate Past Secretary to the Ekiti State Government and All Progressives Congress APC governorship aspirant, Hon. Biodun Oyebanji has promised to run inclusive administration by carrying along the Political stakeholders in the state in the scheme of things if given an opportunity to become the governor in the next Political dispensation.
Oyebanji who also gave the assurance that he would give the party leaders their due respect spoke in Otun , Ido, Ijero and Aramoko Ekiti during his consultative meetings with party leaders and members in furtherance of his governorship ambition in APC.
The former SSG said : “I have enormous respect for party top hierarchy, because they own this party and the platform I want to use to contest.
” I believe in party and leadership. I won’t be proud and inaccessible to you as a governor. I will treat you with respect and honour, because this party belongs to you”.
Oyebanji said he would continue to advance the course of APC in Ekiti, being a party that had afforded him the platform to gain political relevance and prominence in the state, which he said he is banking on as a springboard for his governorship ambition.
the aspirant stated that; ” I was appointed by former governor Niyi Adebayo and the incumbent governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi was not by happenstance. It was a product of my proven integrity, mettle , loyalty, honour and competence”.
Oyebanji advised the party to act truly as unbiased umpires to all aspirants until the primary is conducted, describing this as the best way to unite the party and make it formidable for the June 18, 2022 poll.
“Please, don’t discriminate against other aspirants. Give them the right acceptability . But you know who is the right man for the job by training and experience . We will run all -inclusive and profitable government that would be for all Ekiti people. That is my target and we shall collectively achieve this.
“If I get the ticket and win, I will start on a solid foundation laid by Governor Fayemi and this won’t make running Ekiti difficult for me . I have moved with highly experienced people who have taught me the art of leadership. I won’t disgrace you if you entrust this governorship in my hands.
“I will carry the party leaders along and ensure that they are party of the decision making process to make running of government easy and cohesive”.
Speaking about the virtues of the aspirant and his fraternity with the APC members, former APC Chairman, Chief Jide Awe, said Ekiti remains the home for APC and that he has no reason to doubt that the people would embrace the party in the coming election.
Awe said he was particularly commandeered by the leaders of Ekiti West local government to lead Oyebanji to canvass votes for him for the next party’s primary, saying the council is proud of his(Oyebanji) giant strides as the SSG of the state, .
A prominent APC member in Ido/Osi local government, Mr. Cyril Fasuyi, assured that the APC leaders in Ekiti North will support Oyebanji for him to get the party’s ticket at the primary.
