Guber Poll: SDP Alleges Plans By APC To Arrest Opposition

The Social Democratic Party SDP in Ekiti State said it  has uncovered a cladenstine plan by the ruling All progressives Congress APC to effect the arrest of it’s members in Ekiti State ahead of the forthcoming gubernatorial election.

The SDP in a press statement signed by the Public relations officer PRO ,Gani Salau said the plan by the APC came as a result of the daily acceptance of the former Governor of Ekiti State who is also the gubernatorial candidate of the SDP, Chief Segun Oni by Ekiti electorates and the gale of defection of the APC and PDP stalwarts to SDP cum the open support for Chief Segun Oni ahead of the forthcoming gubernatorial election.

“This has given the APC a serious concern which brought about the meeting of APC leaders over the weekend at the house of a former Governor of Ekiti State at GRA, Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State capital.

“The APC resolved in the meeting that the only option left for them to make serious impact and performance in the June 18 Gubernatorial Election in the state is to reach out to the security agents in Abuja which will handover the directive to the various heads of the security agents in Ekiti State to effect the arrest of the SDP leaders some days before the gubernatorial election in order to create fears and weaken them so that they can have easy ways on June 18 election.

“Part of their resolution is the mandate given to the former Governor of Ekiti State to as a matter of urgency reach out to Abuja on the need to explain the situation on ground as a way of getting sympathy and support for the onslaught.

“The Social Democratic Party in Ekiti State calls on various security agents both in Ekiti State and Abuja to reject whatever negative entities these greedy and rejected politicians of APC extraction might have brought before them from scuttling the wishes of the good people of Ekiti State who have concluded to vote out the arrogant and nonperformance APC government in Ekiti State come June 18, 2022”.  The SDP stated.
