….As Chairman Acknowledges Stakeholders Support
The present Executive Committee of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, Ekiti State Chapter clocks one year in office today Thursday, 27th January, 2022.
To commemorate the anniversary, members of the SWAN Executive and few other interested members will on Saturday 29th January pay an assessment visit to Voki Sports Academy, Iloro Ekiti owned by a patron of the Association, Dr Mrs Adenike Kolawole.
The Ekiti SWAN Patron, Dr Mrs Adenike Kolawole who is the Ceo of the Sports Academy and her husband, Mr Dapo Kolawole and others will be on ground to host the Ekiti SWAN members.
To commemorate the occasion, the chairman, Qozeem Oladapo has also declared giveaway for some members to facilitate their National SWAN Registration for year 2022.
As the SWAN Exco marks its first year in office, the chairman promised to reel out some initiatives after due consultation and endorsement by the executive committee to benefit members in coming days.
Oladapo while reflecting on his 9 point agenda prior to his emergence as chairman expressed delight that at least 70% of the focal points had been achieved while efforts were on to keep consolidating.
He recalled the 9 point agenda to include entrenchment of unity and cohesion among SWAN members and elders, making SWAN relevant in the scheme of sport in Ekiti and nationwide, reviving annual sports awards, regular sports summit, seminars, reinvigorated sponsorship/partnership drive, sustenance and improvement of Annual SWAN Cup, equipping SWAN office , SWAN ROUNDTABLE with sports stakeholders, and innovative sporting initiatives.
The Gogetter as he’s famously known said at least 7 out of 9 agenda had been achieved within the last one year while efforts were on to achieve others.
He noted that SWAN has attracted partnership with some individuals while it will also collaborate with some Corporate bodies and sports inclined groups in before the end of the first quarter of 2022 with a view to boosting the Association in multiple ramifications.
The SWAN chairman thanked the Ekiti SWAN PATRONS’ including Dr Dayo Oladebeye (Rector Federal Polytechnic Ado Ekiti) , Dr (Mrs) Adenike Kolawole (Ceo Voki Sports Academy) and Mr Yemi Owoseni (National Tennis Federation Executive member) for their tremendous support since their inauguration few months ago as well as other stakeholders in the Sports Sector including the Ekiti State Sports Council and Ekiti State Football Association.
With the cooperation of all members of the executive, elders and members, he promised not to relent in his quest to actualize all his visions as chairman of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria Ekiti State chapter.
Oladapo also thanked all Exco and other members for their cooperation so far which he said had spurred him to keep striving towards making Ekiti SWAN a force to reckon with in the state and beyond.
