…. Applauds Dr. Oyebanji for Emulating her Predecessor on women development
The Secretary to Ekiti State Government,SSG, Dr Habibat Adubiaro has met with all elected female councillors across the sixteen local government areas of the state.
The female councillors who were on a courtesy visit were hosted by the SSG at the old council chambers, governor’s office in Ado-Ekiti.
Dr. Adubiaro who expressed delight and appreciation for the courtesy visit noted that she was always impressed seeing women engaged in active politics, the development she said had shown that brighter future awaits women in the state.
She gave kudos to the immediate past administration of Dr Kayode Fayemi and the present administration of Biodun Oyebanji for developing women and giving them the opportunity to serve the state.
The SSG also heaped praises on the present First lady of the state, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji for following the good steps of her predecessor, Erelu Bisi Fayemi in championing the cause of women in Ekiti state.
Dr Adubiaro added that Ekiti remains the only state in Nigeria that assigns more roles for women and commended the state Governor for entrusting women with sensitive positions in the state.
She said, “I am very happy to meet you. I feel happy and impressed anytime I see women holding political positions whether elected or appointed. It makes me to know that we women have a brighter future.
“In the past, women were not assigned with any tangible role to play. We were used as means of mobilization and entertainment but thanks to the immediate past Governor of Ekiti state, His Excellency, Dr John Kayode Fayemi and the present Governor, His Excellency, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for according women recognition and assigning them with tangible role play in the state. Kudos should also be given to the wife of the state governor, Her Excellency, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji for following the good footstep of our mother general, the immediate past first lady of Ekiti state, Her Excellency Erelu Bisi Fayemi in championing the good course of women”
The University Don used the opportunity to counsel female political appointees to embrace good morals in any position they find themselves.
“I want to plead to all women that wherever we are, let’s help one another. Let’s be humble and submissive to our husband”
Earlier the coordinator of the forum Mrs Sabitiu Ayorinde congratulated the SSG on her appointment and expressed satisfaction over her performance since assumption of office.
The forum called for more opportunities for women and wished the SSG success in office.
