The Ekiti State contingent to the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has safely returned to Nigeria, marking the successful completion of this year’s spiritual journey without a single casualty or incident.
According to Alhaja Fatima Bello, member, and a Voluntary spokesperson for the Ekiti State Pilgrims Welfare Board, the pilgrims returned in high spirits, healthy, joyful, and deeply thankful to Almighty Allah for a safe and fulfilling pilgrimage. She reported that the mood throughout the return journey was one of gratitude and renewed spiritual strength.
Alhaja Bello, described this year’s exercise as one of the most organised and peaceful in recent memory. She commended the board’s leadership under Alhaji Salman Adedipe, noting that the pilgrims’ welfare, logistics, and overall spiritual experience were handled with excellence.
Fatima Bello said the Chairman of the Board, Alhaji Salman Adedipe, confirmed that all pilgrims from the state fulfilled their religious obligations with discipline, reverence, and expected devotion. Alhaji Adedipe according to Bello, expressed profound gratitude to Almighty Allah for granting the pilgrims a safe and spiritually uplifting experience. Alhaji Adedipe appreciate the governor of Ekiti State for his support and success of the 2025 Hajj.
In a remarks upon arrival, Alhaji Adedipe further commended the pilgrims for upholding the values of obedience, patience, and unity throughout the pilgrimage. He noted that their exemplary conduct brought honour to Ekiti State and reflected the true spirit of Islam.
The Amiru Hajj, Barrister Tajudeen Ahmed, also lauded the efforts of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) for their effective coordination and logistical support. He particularly praised the Ekiti State Government, under the leadership of Governor Biodun Oyebanji, for providing steadfast support to ensure the welfare, safety, and comfort of every pilgrim before, during, and after the Hajj.
“The Governor’s hands-on involvement and commitment to the wellbeing of our pilgrims cannot be overstated. From medical care to accommodation and feeding arrangements, everything was handled with dignity and excellence,” Barrister Ahmed stated.
The pilgrims were warmly received by families, friends, and government officials upon arrival in Nigeria, with many describing the moment as joyous and deeply emotional. The successful pilgrimage not only reinforces the spiritual life of the Ekiti Muslim community but also strengthens unity and religious consciousness across the state. It is hoped that the positive experiences from the Holy Land will inspire even greater commitment to faith, good conduct, and community service.
