Ekiti NUJ Felicitates SSG on Professorial Elevation 

The Ekiti State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has congratulated the Secretary to the Government of Ekiti State, Dr Abibat Adubiaro on her elevation to the rank of professor.

Adubiaro’s elevation was announced on Tuesday by the Promotion and Appointment Committee of the Federal University Oye Ekiti (FUOYE).

In a statement co-signed by the chairman of the Union, Comrade Kayode Babatuyi and the Secretary, Comrade O’Seun Ogunsakin in Ado Ekiti on Thursday, the umbrella body of journalists in the State said Adubiaro’s promotion was not a surprise as she has always exhibited virtues of hard work, dedication and excellence.

The Union who felicitated the new professor of Chemistry described the elevation as well deserved and a call to higher service to humanity; noting that the academics is a place to raise generations of leaders who are worthy in character and learning for them to become useful to humanity.

The NUJ added that Adubiaro’s comportment as SSG underscores the need to have vibrant academic in government so that they can ensure a synergy between the town and the gown, thereby building a governance structure that solves problems.

The union praised Adubiaro’s brilliance, humility and flexibility; urging her not to derail from the principles that have singled her out for the elevation.

“We are happy to receive the news of Dr Adubiaro’s elevation to the rank of professor. This elevation is a justification of the award she received from our Union last year. She has consistently exhibited virtues of excellence which Ekiti people are known for. We congratulate Governor Oyebanji under whose leadership some of the members of his cabinet have become professors in the last two years. We congratulate the new Professor and urge her to deploy more of her expertise in the service of Ekiti State and humanity in general “, the Union said.
