The students of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), have endorsed Senator Ayo Arise to be elected as representative of the Ekiti north senatorial district in the 2027 poll.
The students made their declaration known through their leadership, the Student Union Government (SUG) and principal stakeholders of the University.
In what appears to be a show of solidarity and appreciation for the sterling contributions of Senator Ayo Arise to the growth and development of students and youths, the students appealed to all political organisations in Ekiti North Senatorial District to support the aspiration of Sen. Ayo Arise to return to the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the forthcoming election.
The students’ endorsement was contained in a press statement co- signed leaders such as Adio James Iyanuoluwa Iyanda Favour Olamide SUG President Stakeholder Rep. Ikole Campus Alao Ayorinde S.Afolabi Azeez A. SUG General Secretary Stakeholder Rep. Ayegbaju Campus Fabiyi Micheal Alabi Ayodele O. Stakeholder Rep. Ayedun Campus Stakeholder Rep. Ifaki Campus Egbeyemi Dorcas IretiOluwole Oluwasegun M. Stakeholder Rep. Ido-Ekiti Campus and Stakeholder Rep. Iree-Ekiti Campus respectively.
The statement reads in part:”…We are endorsing Senator Arise for a number of compelling reasons , his previous tenure in the National Assembly established a high standard for public service. He used his office to attract crucial federal projects and defend his constituents’ interests. His professional background in pioneering digital transaction infrastructure also gives him an edge among others. It was noted that his tenure as Senator representing the district between 2007 and 2011 facilitated the establishment of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti. The university has since contributed immensely to human empowerment and socio-economic development of Ekiti North Senatorial District in particular, and Ekiti State in general.
“This declaration represents a carefully considered consensus rooted in his documented history of legislative excellence and human development. Senator Arise played an instrumental role in establishing our University. His strategic advocacy and provision of vital logistical support ensured the successful take-off of our great institution. This achievement stands as a monumental victory for the entire senatorial district. Today, the university serves as a major economic and educational hub for the district and the state at large. The University has expanded its impact across several towns and communities, including Ifaki, Ido, Ire, Ayedun, Ikole, Ilupeju, Ayegbaju, Itapa, Oke-Imesi, and Itaji.
“With a population of over 70,000 students and staff, FUOYE has brought unprecedented commercial growth and infrastructural development to these areas. Ekiti North requires a representative capable of navigating the complexities of the federal government to attract resources and infrastructure to the district. The district needs a voice that commands respect and delivers tangible results. Senator Arise has consistently demonstrated these qualities. His return to the Senate will guarantee the restoration of quality representation and accelerated development for our people. We therefore urge the political stakeholders in the district to support Senator Ayo Arise in this new course.
