Easter: Ekiti NOA Director Charges Christians on Moderation, Tolerance

The Director of  National Orientation Agency in Ekiti State ,Mrs Olawumi Famuyiwa has felicitated Christian faithful on the successful completion of the 2023 Lenten period which has culminated into the Easter celebration.

The NOA boss in her congratulatory message, charged the people to be moderate in celebration, and reflect on the whole essence of Easter with a view of living a sacrificial lifestyle.

She called on Christians to continue to dwell harmoniously with people of other faiths by extending the hand of fellowship as exemplified by Jesus Christ.

The NOA Director noted that the simultaneous fasting period for both Christians and Muslims this year is not a mere coincidence but a clear evidence that our God is one and lover of unity,she then urged both faith to use the period to pray for Ekiti State and Nigeria at large .

Mrs Famuyiwa stressed the reason for the season which should be for sober reflections to further adhere to the teachings of Jesus Christ so as to rededicate themselves to the service of God and humanity.

“Since Easter is one of the important celebrations in Christendom,it is expected of Christ followers to emulate the sacrificial lifestyle and death of Jesus Christ.

“We should show love to one another, because Christ’s love for us made Him surrender His life for us on the cross at Calvary for the remission of sins,and it is only in the atmosphere of peace and love that we can unleash our creative potentials for the development of our Nation”

She also prayed for more strength for the Muslim brothers and sisters for the successful completion of the Ramadan fast.
