Easter Celebration: LG Chairman’s Wife Puts Smiles on Widows, Downtrodden in Society

The wife of Ido/Osi Local Government Chairman, Mrs. Titilayo Omoleye, has distributed foodstuff and cash gifts to 200 Christian widows and vulnerable individuals in the society to enable them to celebrate Easter.


During the presentation ceremony at the Local Government headquarters in Ido-Ekiti, Mrs. Omoleye said the gesture aimed to give the beneficiaries a sense of belonging during the festive period, which emphasizes sharing with the needy and loved ones.


She urged them to pray for peace and prosperity in the Local Government, state, and nation, emphasizing that peace is essential for societal development.

Mrs. Omoleye expressed gratitude to the women for their overwhelming support for her husband in the last Local Government elections.

She encouraged them to demonstrate the same level of support for the incumbent Governor, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, in the upcoming governorship election, to enable him continue his good work.

According to Mrs. Omoleye, the gesture was a promise fulfilled, showcasing her commitment to touching the lives of women and children, especially the vulnerable.

She emphasized that the initiative aimed to alleviate financial and material challenges faced by these groups.

“We are here today to fulfill promises made, to improve the lives of our people, and to alleviate the hardships they face, particularly during this Easter celebration”.

“We aim to ensure they have access to essential necessities like food, cash, and materials, and to remind them that they are valued members of our community and an integral part of this government.”

Leaders of the widows took turn to eulogize the virtues of the wife of the Local Government boss, while describing the support as timely and urged other philanthropists and organizations to emulate the gesture.

“We are truly happy and grateful, and we will continue to pray for you, your husband, the local government, and the state for this kind gesture, especially during this critical time of need.

“This act of kindness will undoubtedly make our Easter celebrations joyful, and we look forward to praying for peace and prosperity in our land”.

“Ido/Osi Local Government deserves commendation for consistently reaching out to the underprivileged in times of need.”

She expressed gratitude and promised to continue praying for Mrs. Omoleye, her husband, the local government, the state and the nation at large.

The event had in attendance, the executive chairman of Ido/Osi Local Government, Hon. Bamidele Omoleye, Head of Local Government Administration, Mr. Gbenga Sanya, Chairperson of Eso-Obe LCDA, Mrs Ayeni Olayinka Adunni, Politicians and other Local Government functionaries.
