Countdown To NNL 2022: Sports Commissioner,Awopetu Meets Ekiti United Officials,Deliberates on Grey Arears

 

With less than a month to the kick off of the Nigeria National Football League NNL 2022, the need for all officials of Ekiti United FC to to all that will make the team surpass the height attained by the team last season and avoid any act that will deter the team’s progress has been stressed.

At a stakeholders meeting involving all backroom staff of Ekiti United FC held at the team’s secretariat in Ado, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon.Micheal Awopetu told the officials that all eyes were on the them, hence the need for them to be on top of their games.

Hon. Awopetu during the interactive session said the Management would instil discipline prior and during the 2022 football season more than ever before with a view to ensuring better performance.

He urged all staff especially the technical crew to accord total cooperation to the head coach , Kayode Olujohungbe for him to enjoy full concentration on his job off and on the pitch.

Hon. Awopetu who informed the entire staff that the Special Assistant to the governor on Sports, Hon.Kola Owoseni will oversee some sections of the team, he advised members of the Supporters Club to avoid unsolicited interference in the affairs of the technical crew.

The Sports Commissioner who said only sizeable number of players will be employed at both Ekiti United FC and the Feeders Team said due integrity checks will be done on all players pencilled down by the coaches of both teams.

He assured that financial provision will be made for players of the Feeders Team this season.

While urging the staff to avoid internal wrangling, he thanked the backroom staff for their understanding and cooperation since November when the camp opened officially .

On the issue of transportation, the Youth and Sports Commissioner assured that a befitting transportation system would be provided for Ekiti United before the end of February through the acquisition of a new vehicle and repair of the current vehicle.

He also promised that the management would fortify some key units in the team including welfare, medical and media ahead of the forthcoming season.

Some staff of the club including the Team Manager, Adedeji Adu, Chief Scout officer, Olushola Babatola, Head coach, Kayode Olujohungbe and Qozeem Oladapo all spoke on issues bordering on their various departments and how to enhance efficiency in the delivery of their various jobs while the commissioner promised the preparedness of the management team to intervene accordingly in pertinent areas with a view to repositioning Ekiti United FC.

Secretary of the team, Ayodeji Olowolafe thanked the Commissioner for his fatherly support and understanding with a promise on behalf the staff and players to be more alive and dedicated to their duties.

He also briefed the Commissioner on the various programs lined up prior to the kickoff of the 2022 NNL in February.

The interface was well attended by all officials of both Ekiti United FC and the Feeders Team.
