Akwa Ibom First Lady Dies After Battle with Illness

Patience Umo Eno, the First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2024, after battling a prolonged illness.

 

Her passing was confirmed in a statement released by Ini Ememobong, the state’s Commissioner for Information, in the early hours of Friday.

 

According to the statement, Mrs. Eno passed away peacefully in a hospital, surrounded by her family.

 

However, specific details about her illness have not been disclosed.

 

“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of the Wife of the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Her Excellency, Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno. She passed away peacefully on 26th September 2024, in the presence of her family,” the statement read.

 

The statement also expressed the family’s submission to the will of God and called for prayers and support during this difficult time. The family has requested privacy as they mourn their beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.

 

Governor Umo Eno expressed his gratitude to all those who supported the family during this trying period and reassured the citizens of Akwa Ibom State that, despite this great personal loss, his dedication to serving the state remains steadfast.
