
The Faculty of Law, of the Federal University Oye Ekiti,FUOYE has earned another first in ensuring a forward looking tradition of smart campus geared towards strengthening academic integrity and advancement by installing CCTV cameras in strategic spots on the premises of the faculty.
The development signals a fulfillment of best global practices in ensuring a smart and secured campus life as well as safe learning environment.

A statement made available to newsmen by the Dean of the faculty , Dr Adeola . Kehinde disclosed that the cameras were also installed in a bid to improve quality assurance and security within the academic environment, as well as ensure the integrity of students during the conduct of examinations and other scholarly activities.
The statement further reads in part:”
The leadership of the Faculty of Law, led by the Ag. Dean, Dr. (Mrs.) A. O. Kehinde, has installed CCTV cameras in two of the five lecture theatres within the faculty.

“The Faculty has also expressed its commitment to extending the installation to other classrooms and strategic locations within the faculty environs. The Management noted that the innovation is in line with international best practices and will contribute significantly to maintaining the Faculty’s zero-tolerance policy against examination malpractices. It further stated that the deployment of technology within the academic environment underscores the Faculty’s determination to strengthen standards of accountability, transparency, and academic excellence.

“The cameras, which are now fully functional in two lecture theatres, will ensure that examinations are conducted under strict surveillance beyond conventional classroom invigilation.
“ This measure is expected to enhance the integrity of assessment processes and guarantee that students’ academic performance remains a true reflection of the quality of learning and scholarship within the institution. “
Dr. Kehinde reaffirmed her commitment to ensuring that, under her leadership, the Faculty continues to provide academic direction that reflects the growing adoption of technology and innovation in promoting integrity, enhancing quality assurance, and combating examination malpractice. The installation of the CCTV surveillance system marks another significant step in the Faculty’s ongoing efforts to create a secure, technologically driven, and academically sound learning environment consistent with global best practices in legal education.”
