The ancient town of Ọtun, Moba Local Government Area of Ekiti state played host to dignitaries from all walks of life who joined the Ajiboye family to celebrate the 75th birthday of Madam Agnes Aina Ajiboye, in the town on Wednesday.
The ceremony which took place at a popular event centre in the town was a beehive of Prominent indigenes of the town and beyond as crème de la crème in the society graced the occasion.
Family members, friends and well-wishers were not left out in the celebration, to praise and give thanks to God on behalf of the matriarch for His divine mercy and favour over Madam Ajiboye who has continued to serve God and humanity in the area, spanning many decades.
Mr. Olawumi Ajiboye one of his son in a remark eulogized the virtue of tenacity, doggedness and sincerity of purpose of Madam Ajiboye while she was raising them and the pains she bore, adding that her life is worthy of emulation, while praying God Almighty to enlogate the staying of his mother on the planet earth, and to eat the good fruits of her hard labour.
Another son of the celebrant, Dele Ajiboye who shared brief history of her mother explained the septuagenarian was born on August the 7th, 1949 in Ugbe Uro Ajowa Akoko, Ondo State.
He added that she was not opportune to have formal education, hence she was trained in some trades and businesses which made her a renowned tycoon in her community.
Dele Ajiboye commended her mother for being a kindhearted woman and a lover of all.
Madam Agnes Ajiboye who could not hide her joy in a chat with newsmen praised God Almighty for sparing her life and for the wonderful children God blessed her with.
The High points of the occasion was the cutting of the 75th year’s birthday cake and the royal entry of the Oore of Otun-Ekiti, Oba Adeayo Adeagbo who prayed fervently for the celebrant and admonished other children present at the occasion not to wait until the death of their parents before they celebrate them, saying they should make sure they take care of their parents when they are still alive.
The monarch said the Bible censured Christians to count their days so that they may appreciate what God has done for them. He said attaining 75 years of age in a country where life expectancy is 45 years is not a mean feat.
He advised the children of the celebrant to emulate the good qualities of their mother and serve God diligently. He said Mrs. Ajiboye is a devoted Christian who is a good example to others in the community.
The occasion came to end with a popular Highlife musician entertained guests who graced the occasion.
