In preparation for this year’s Triennial Delegate Conference of the Nigerian Association of Women Journalists in Nigeria (NAWOJ), coming up in Abuja on 25th, November,Journalists in the South West (B Zone) have expressed support and Confidence on the electoral success of a vice presidential candidate, Comrade Adeola Adekunle. This comes as the candidate gave assurance on vibrance and positive repositioning of the association, if given the opportunity.
Comrade Adekunle gave the assurance when she visited Ogun, Oyo and Osun councils to declare her intentions to NAWOJ members.
She said it was time for Women Journalists to vote for experience, dedication, newness and fresh ideas, adding that she had the capacity to be the Vice President of the Southwest Zone.
She noted that if elected, the Zone will be well represented among other zones as members will benefit in many trainings towards enhancing the profession.
VP B zonal candidate who said she was opened to advice and correction charged members to bring up ideas that could move the zone forward.
NAWOJ Members in Ogun,Oyo and Osun have assured the Aspirants vying for the position of Vice President, B Zone , Comrade Adeola Adekunle of their unflinching support.
This was their submission when they received the contestant in their states.
The Chairman of NUJ, Ogun State Council, Comrade Wale Olanrewaju assured Adekunle of votes from the state, saying it was high time NAWOJ got vibrant hands in person of Adeola Adekunle.
Speaking , chairperson of NAWOJ in Ogun state, Comrade Sekinat Opebiyi who appreciated the Aspirant for coming to the state urged her to ensure she bring back the unity in the zone if elected.
Former chairman Ondo NUJ, Comrade James Sowole , he desscribed Adeola Adekunle as a vibrant unionist who have served with him at different capacities solicited massive support for her .
Also speaking, the Oyo state NUJ chairman Comrade Demola Babalola who charged the Aspirant to ensure she uphold and work with the constitution of NUJ said Oyo state will continue to support her to be successful.
In her word, Chairperson Oyo NAWOJ, Comrade Jadesola Ajibola noted that they have a candidate in the state.
It was a Rousing welcome for Adeola Adekunle in Osun state as NAWOJ members dedicated this month’s congress to her visit.
Speaking, NUJ chairman Osun state council Comrade Wasiu Ajadosu while describing Adeola as a dogged leader who knows her Onions expressed confidence that she will preform excellently if voted for.
Comrade Ajadosu also assured the campaign team of massive votes come 25th of November.
The chairperson of Osun NAWOJ, Comrade Motunrayo Ayegbayo said Adeola Adekunle would always get her undiluted support at all time.
The campaign continues as the train is scheduled to move to Ondo and Ekiti councils.
