The Federal Ministry of Women Affairs in collaboration with Development Research and Project Centre has honoured the President of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Comrade Ladi Bala with an “Award of Excellence”
The award was presented to Comrade Bala by the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Dame Pauline Tallen, who appreciated the Media Icon for her contributions to the growth and development of the Nigerian Women and Children as well as women and children living with disabilities.
The Minister further described Comrade Bala as a visionary leader with an unflinching support for meaningful women development programmes.
According to Women Affairs Minister, “the NAWOJ leadership provides platforms of hope, succour and relief to further drive the issues and concerns of women in line with the visions and aspirations of The Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development in Nigeria.”
Senator Aishatu Binani and other senators were also honoured in recognition of their roles in advancing the course of women in the country.
The former President of NAWOJ, Comrade Evelyn Onyilo was equally honoured with an Award of Excellence.
The event had in attendance notable dignitaries in attendance including the President of the Albino Foundation, Mr Jake Epelle and the NUJ Chairman FCT Chapter, Mr Emmanuel Ogbeche .
