Afrobeat musician, Seun Kuti, has explained the reasons behind his encounter with a police officer in a viral video.
The video, showed Kuti slapping a uniformed officer.
Following the incident the IGP, in a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, ordered the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, to arrest Kuti.
Reacting to the arrest order on his Instagram story, Kuti said the policeman tried to kill him and his family and that he had apologised.
He said he had agreed not to press charges against him because he apologised, saying he had proof to show for his action.
“He tried to kill me and my family. I have the proof but I no dey chase clout. He apologized and I have agreed not to press charges. Make una mind una business make the poor guy no go lose him a job.
“I welcome the investigation and will give my full cooperation. I also pray to the IG that whoever is wrong should be indicted,” he said
