American rapper Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., popularly known as DDG, said Western media narratives about Nigeria is “fake.”
The hip-hop star, currently holidaying in Lagos, said Nigeria is “nowhere near” as dangerous as the United States and encouraged foreigners to visit and experience the country themselves.
In a video broadcast, DDG stated, “I honestly think America is the most dangerous country. I don’t think Nigeria is as dangerous as America – nowhere near.
”No doubt, there is insecurity in Nigeria. But gun violence and gangsterism are not as common in Nigeria as in America. So, if anybody is thinking about coming to Nigeria, pull up.”
He also shared that he had been warned that Nigerian foods were unhealthy and was advised to always boil water before drinking.
Contrary to these warnings, DDG said he found Nigerian cuisine to be very healthy, singling out jollof rice as a personal favorite.
