The President General, Umuoji community, Idemili North Local Government Area (LGA), of Anambra state,Chief Silas Onyima was murdered on Friday by unknown Gunmen.
Newshereandthere gathered that the assassins stormed Onyima’s house in the evening and shot him dead in his bedroom.
A source, who recalled that the deceased emerged as the president general of the community last year, claimed that his assassins were on masks when they visited and murdered him.
The Anambra state police public relations officer, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, who had confirmed the report said the command had mobilised the police to the area to restore peace and order.
“Our men have gone to the scene and found the man in a pool of blood. The corpse was recovered and deposited at the morgue with the help of some of the family members. We are also working with some eyewitnesses and community members to help track the perpetrators and investigation is ongoing,” Ikenga said.
