The Sokoto State Police Command, under the leadership of CP Hayatu Hassan Shaffa, has presented cheques totaling ₦14,638,918.76 to the families and beneficiaries of late police officers who lost their lives in the course of their service to the nation.
The presentation is part of the welfare initiatives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, aimed at providing support to the families of officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
Speaking during the presentation, the Commissioner of Police reaffirmed the commitment of IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, to the welfare of police personnel and their families, stressing that the sacrifices made by officers in the service to the nation will not be forgotten.
CP Shaffa appreciated the Inspector-General of Police for his continued commitment to the welfare of police officers and the families of fallen heroes, noting that the financial assistance will provide meaningful support to the beneficiaries during a difficult period.
The beneficiaries expressed their profound appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police and the Commissioner of Police for the gesture, describing it as a demonstration of the Nigeria Police Force’s continued concern for the families of its fallen officers.
