Senator Ayo Arise Drags Ekiti North APC Primary Election to Abuja Federal High Court

Former lawmaker Senator Ayo Arise has officially challenged the outcome of the recent All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary election for Ekiti North, filing a lawsuit at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Senator Arise, who secured 4,886 votes to finish as the runner-up behind the declared winner, Senator Cyril Fasuyi (who polled 14,179 votes), has reportedly vowed to exhaust his financial resources to secure a favourable judgment by all means available.

An insider close to Arise’s camp in Ekiti revealed that the aggrieved aspirant is relying heavily on the backing of a highly influential political leader in the state to navigate the legal challenge.

According to the source, Arise’s strategists are aiming to replicate the political maneuver that derailed Senator Adedayo Adeyeye’s election bid in 2019 through the court.

”We have mapped out concrete strategies to give Senator Cyril Fasuyi the exact and same treatment that prevented Senator Adeyeye from serving his term,” the source disclosed.

A core component of the strategy, the source added, is ensuring that Senator Arise provides substantial funding to aggressively prosecute the case through the Federal High Court in Abuja.
