FAMILY BACKGROUND
He comes from the native Odofin dynasty in Odo Ado, Ado Ekiti. He hails from a polygamous family of late Mr Michael Alabi. He has a humble family background. One of his brothers, Chief Festus Alabi is the incumbent Odofin of Ado Ekiti.
EDUCATIONAL STATUS
He attended St Patrick’s Catholic primary school, Mathew street, Ado Ekiti. He went to Olaoluwa Muslim Grammar School, Ado Ekiti for the secondary school. He studied a B.A English at the university of Lagos. He also has a B.Sc in Political Science from Caleb university, Imota, Lagos. He later pursued a master degree programme in international relations and diplomacy at the university of Lagos. Basically, he is well groomed academically. No wonder he readily lend a helping hand out for others educational advancement.
MARRIAGE
He married to Mrs Hannah Morounmubo Alabi. The union is blessed with promising children who makes great exploits and advances in their academics. His wife and children make him proud to be her hubby and dad. Bashorun is an example of the saying, behind a great husband is an encouraging wife.
SUPPORTS FOR EXTENDED FAMILY AND FRIENDS
Every day with his family and friends is like a reunion. His idea is that the further out he extend relationship, the stronger the entity becomes. He has touched every life that comes to him. Bashorun have had to build houses for those who needed them, fully funded educations of nieces, nephews, and the indigent students, paid medical bills of the less privileges. Whenever he’s in Ado, his GRA residence is thronged by help seekers.
BUSINESSMAN/ENTREPRENEUR/ REALTOR
His business is to arrange the sale, renting or management of homes, land and buildings for the clients. A member of the National Association of Realtors. He is the chairman/CEO Link Heritage International limited with the headquarters in Lagos and offices in Ado Ekiti, Canada, UK and the US.
SOCIAL LIFE
He has a busy social life. He is the president of Ado Heritage group, member Ado Frontiers Club, member Ado Ekiti Trustees committee. His social life consist of the various bonds he forms with others, such as family, friends, members of his community, and strangers. The smartest thing he does towards leading a healthier and happier life is maintaining a strong social support network.
POLITICAL RESPONSIVENESS
In the broadest sense of the term, political responsiveness is a person’s obligation to contribute to the welfare or environment of his community or society. Bashorun Alabi is politically active, especially in party politics or a hybrid system. He is a card carrying member of the All Progressive Congress (APC). As a factor in Ado politics, some politicians need to leverage his key political clouts for appointments and benefits.
CONTRIBUTIONS TO HUMANITY
In the years past, the celebrant has paid attention to the people around him. He usually try to find ways to address their needs. At times, his contributions doesn’t require magnificent publicity, rather it can be personal and private, such as dropping off a treat to a friend, engage in social entrepreneurship and giving back to his community.
