The Dean of Students Affairs at the University of Jos and a consultant psychiatrist at the University of Jos Teaching Hospital, Prof. Chris Piwuna has emerged the new president of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
He succeeds Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke, a Professor of Soil Science from Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike.
Piwuna’s election was confirmed on Sunday during ASUU’s 23rd National Delegates Congress held in Benin City, Edo State. He won against Prof. Adamu Babayo of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi.
The new president will lead ASUU for the next four years.
