The Osun state police command said it has arrested a 35-year-old bank manager, Adeniyi Talabi for allegedly defrauding 35 customers to the tune of N650 million.
The spokesperson of the police in the state, Yemisi Opalola, in a statement made available to journalists, alleged that the suspect defrauded the victims through an illegal means on ‘Proof of fund.’
Opalola stated that the suspect has been suspended by the bank where he worked as bank manager in one of the commercial banks in Osogbo.
She added that the suspect would face charges bordering on fraud, obtaining money under false pretence, conversion and stealing money to the sum of N650,850,000.
Opalola said investigation into the case has since commenced and the suspect and his accomplices would be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.
